This file describes how to name cohorts in a systematic manner.
Standardized abbreviations
General
CTR = control
Ethnicities
MAL = Malay
IND = Indian
CHN = Chinese
Naming Convention and Examples
The first group of letters will have the disease, control, and project name. If the cohort is the control, it
starts with CTR for control. This is so that when all cohorts are sorted alphabetically, the CTRs cluster
together by the eye.
The second group of letters will be the ancestry if known.
Example:
CTR.SGVP_CHN_NUS: a control group; from the Singapore Genome Variation Project; of Chinese ancestry; from the National University of Singapore
