Community of Health and Omics Resources Unique to Singapore (CHORUS)

Powered by DNAnexus

Overview & Intent

CHORUS is a system for federated search across genotype frequency databases shared by multiple entities including research laboratories, hospitals, and diagnostic providers.

Use Cases

User Experience

There are 2 main envisioned user groups involved in this project. They are:

  • Data contributors: institutions who are uploading genotype frequency information
  • Querying users: a user/institution who issues queries against the database to obtain information about the genotype frequencies of specific cohorts

Note that the user groups are not distinct. It is possible that a data contributor from Organization A can be also a querying user who uses the federated database to obtain information about other cohorts contributed by Organizations B, C, and D.

This separation of user groups is useful, as the anticipated interactions that these 2 groups have with the database is distinct and described in detail in the pages Information for Data Contributors and Information for Query Users.
