Seneca is a proof-of-concept distributed social network for Android.
The hope is to provide an answer to some of the problems presented by other social networks. Primarily, the following:
- Content Moderation
- Privacy controls
- Distributed Content Storage
- Strong privacy controls, defaulting maximum anonymity
Seneca's distributed content model provides a number of inherent advantages, but to name a few:
- No single point of failure in the system since data is easily replicated across multiple servers and devices.
- Lightweight and cheap infrastructure.
- No content moderation.
Seneca's minimum viable product in order of current priority:
- Accounts CRUD
- p2p messaging
- Topics CRUD
