Fuji cameras work #128
Conversation
Hi, your app works with Fuji cameras too. Proposing an edit to show that. I won't be offended if you don't want to add this.
I was trying to connect X-T2 directly to the Mac, on USB Tether Shooting Auto. There was no camera detected. Not sure what else do I need to look into. |
Hmm, I am not sure either. Because I have the same setting on my X-T2 (Tether shooting auto) and I hook it up with a standard USB cable to my iMac, turn on the camera, start Camera Live and it sees the X-T2. There's even a video on YouTube showing how to use Camera Live to feed Fuji camera video into Zoom etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJJQminBmQs&lc=Ugw2IXj1zjMxDNDMdxl4AaABAg.98M0nlk919L98MMdTsY9oY |
@andy-chin see the Troubleshooting section of the README and try everything suggested there. @mjlodge - thanks for the PR, I'll update the list in the libgphoto2 branch once we have a vague idea of the range of cameras people see success with. |
Plenty of people reposting cameras working, mostly Sony and Fuji but also Nikon and of course Canon. Tom, thanks for making this little bit of magic. |
Yes, I watched you great video and am trying to recreate. See image - It
recognizes the camera, rear camera screen shows USB icon, but I still get
an error. I am just trying camera live so did not download xcode yet. I
assume this works w/o the de-signing step just to view video? Thanks

Yes the codesign is just a fix for Zoom, Usual errors are, camera in USB transfer (PTP) mode, it needs to be in tethered auto. Camera is on a video mode, it needs to be in stills mode. Make sure those are set and turn of and on camera.mI don't see any attached image... |
! yes that was it - not in Tethered auto! works great now. Again, Thanks

@kdrachnik1 you're welcome, enjoy |
Does NOT work on Fujifilm X-T4 |
Make sure you select ‘Auto Tether mode’ from deep in the Fuji menus.

I know - This is done. It just doesn't work with the new Fujifilm X-T4. |
I wanted to add another data point. Camera live is working as expected for me, and is able to detect my Fujifilm X-T2 with auto USB tethering enabled. Camera Live Version: 13 |
