Maarten's assessment of site

I went through the site and note here the things that might be improved. In general it seems an excellent site and very useful. With little effort we can make something out of it that TI can be proud of and add to its list of public sites.

Small

• On page for one company (eg http://corpsearch.tigeorgia.webfactional.com/ka/corporations/474612/)
  • Email is written twice in the attribute name
  • The email field in the DB is not clean. In the example it contains both email and a telephone number.

Big(ger)

• Search (when on english language)
  • Does not seem to work properly. Eg after a search for tbilisi in address you receive http://corpsearch.tigeorgia.webfactional.com/en/corporations/search/?csrfmiddlewaretoken=hO1ivMvQc1VliLCKsVA9Iy6pezhStC1B&name=&id_code=&address=tbilisi&email= in which the word "tbilisi" does not seem to occur anywhere in the information (or at least it is not shown).
  • Searching for shps in company name gives no results, while this term is part of the company name of those listed at http://corpsearch.tigeorgia.webfactional.com/en/corporations/search/?csrfmiddlewaretoken=hO1ivMvQc1VliLCKsVA9Iy6pezhStC1B&name=&id_code=&address=tbilisi&email=
• General search
  • People may not know in which field data is stored. So why not also add a general search box which searches in all fields? You may cluster the results depending on the field that got the "hit" if that seems useful.
• Keep search box above the results (as Google does it).
  • Now you loose teh search box when you get the results. It makes it harder to refine your search.
• Style
  • Style it like other TI sites, with a banner, and tabs using "TI home-style"
  • Develop a TI "search-box", and SERP style and use that across the site.
• Statistics of the DB
  • Make a tab with dynamic stats about the DB (how many corporations, how many people, a few top lists (eg people involved in most companies), etc. Thus make the site more lively and fun to visit and explore.
