mwp is designed for contemporary Linux (e.g. Arch, Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu) and FreeBSD. Installation Guide.
mwp can also be used on MS Windows. To run mwp on Windows, you have the following options:
- For Windows 11, you can install and run mwp in WSL-g. This is by far the best Windows option, as it provides almost the same user-experience as for Linux or FreeBSD.
- For Windows 10 users, it is also possible to install and run mwp with WSL
- You can also build using Cygwin, see the mwp on cygwin instructions. A lot of work, better than Win10/WSL, less good than Win11/WSLg
- Within a virtual machine (Linux / FreeBSD guest OS), follow the Linux install guide.
There are a number of tutorial videos on mwp and its usage:
- Installation Video. Somewhat obsolete, use in conjunction with the wiki Installation Guide.
The following video guides may also help. They are quite old but should be reasonably accurate.
