Assume you have created a new las2peer service with the help of the las2peer Template Project and want to publish this new service as Open Source Software. In this document we shortly discuss how to properly license your own service created on basis of the las2peer template project.

In general, we pursue a permissive licensing strategy, thus supporting the wide application of las2peer for arbitrary purposes, be it hobby projects, academic work, or even commercial exploitation.

Once you push your code on platforms such as GitHub, be sure to include respective license statements. Upon creation of a new repo, GitHub will automatically ask you about the license you intend to use and add a respective license template to your repo. Be sure to adapt the license template to your purposes. Usually, you should fill in author names, affiliations, year of license issuing.
