I've made this work on Python 3.
I'd like to get it to where all the tests pass (I'm using pytest), but I coudlnt' get jsonschema to work. That's probably more because I've never used it before.
Anyways, jsondate now works for what I need it to work, so please let me know if there's anything else I can do.
