Submitting a Translation
We are looking for users to help us translation PPJA into the following languages:
- German (de)
- Spanish (es)
- Brazilian Portuguese (pt)
- Russian (ru)
- Japanese (ja)
- Simplified Chinese (zh)
- Italian (it)
- French (fr)
- Korean (ko)
- Turkish (tr)
- Hungarian (hu)
With the migration to DGA, PPJA now supports i18n format.
Want to translate an unsupported language? More information can be found at the end.
If you notice your translations messed up/changed I apologize. For languages that don't use a Latin alphabet Github seems to get confused and not reflect the change. If I have to manually go in and fix merge conflicts it's hard for me to tell the difference & if it needs corrected.
- If you need to learn how to submit a pull request on github, please visit this link if you're having trouble.
While SDV does a great job at including a wide variety of languages, we understand it may not support your language. We encourage users to still complete these translations and we will upload them on the official PPJA pages as optional files. If we get enough unsupported language submissions these will likely be merged into "Mega Packs" for that language & a new translation hub will be created.
Please reach out to Paradigmnomad with your completed translation.
- A: No! We're thrilled if you only translate one pack. Every little bit helps!
- A: While we'd prefer if you could translate the entire pack at once, we understand some packs are large and may not be able to be completed by one person. We will happily take anything you have translated. Only officially supported languages will be accepted for partial translations. Unsupported languages must have the pack complete.
- A: Yes! We have native speakers helping us translate but sometimes we have to use Google Translate to fill in gaps/test. Please submit any corrections!
- A: The easiest way is to look through the artist credits under Translations and see if there is a name next to the pack you're looking to translate.
- A: It depends. If there is one word or two that's alright but we highly encourage users who are both fluent in English and their native tongue to provide us translations. Google Translate gets A LOT of things wrong.
- A: When new items are added it takes awhile to get translations. Please submit any if you can contribute.
- A: Italian translators are needed the most out of all the officially supported languages.
- A: Yes! These are handled a bit differently since they don't use JA but rather the
language
condition in Content Patcher and i18n for other frameworks. If you're not sure on how to do this please submit a PR with your translation and I'll get it added into the main version.
- A: Translations often become outdated very quickly due to how often PPJA is updated. This can cause errors. By merging translations into the main file we prevent old versions floating around. Sometimes translation uploads slip through the cracks which is why you may see some on Nexus still. These versions are very outdated and it is not recommended to use them.
