UiPath Watcher is a web application designed in order to monitor UiPath Robots. It allows to create rules & trigger alerts on-top of UiPath Orchestrator & ElasticSearch APIs. It’s easy to use, open-source & created by an automation specialist for automation specialists.
UiPath Watcher was developed & tested on a machine with following capabilities:
- CPU: 2 CPUs
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Hard drive disk: 50 GB
This project has been developed on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.4. Any Linux distribution may be compatible.

This project has been developed using MariaDB 10.2.22+ as database. You need to create an empty database named uipath_watcher.
This project has been tested on Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome.
A default environment file comes with the web application: .env.example.ini. Copy this file or rename it to .env.
cp .env.example.ini .env
Here are the values you may need to update according to your installation:
- APP_ENV, possible values are local, staging (test environment) & production, choose the value that suits your installation mode
- APP_URL, you should put the URL of the server where UiPath Watcher is deployed
- ASSET_URL, same as APP_URL
- DB_HOST, DB_PORT, DB_DATABASE, DB_USERNAME & DB_PASSWORD are regarding database configuration, put the values according to your MariaDB installation
After configuring environment variables you'll have to execute some php commands to deploy the application:
php artisan migrate --force
php artisan db:seed --force
php artisan passport:install
php artisan key:generate
You'll also need to add a cron entry to execute all scheduled tasks (alert scanning), here are the details:
* * * * * cd /path-to-your-project && php artisan schedule:run >> /dev/null 2>&1
That's it, you're UiPath Watcher instance is installed.
