Clinical notes contain rich patient information. However, researchers are unable to study them due to IRB restrictions. Hence, the project aims to test Philter software from UCSF to de-identify Emory clinical notes. It is currently at an early stage, and it may require additional configurations to the original software to fit specific needs. End goal is move Emory clinical notes to NELL database after de-identification.
Philter-ucsf-master folder is the open-source Philter software, which also contains specific instructions of how to run the program. Philter_test.ipynb is the example test file demonstrating its use.
