The Pantry project is intended to help manage food pantry services and record keeping. Initially, this encompasses:

  • Records of individuals and households
  • Management of "products" and "services" available
  • Records of two types of events:
    • Assistance Service - providing financial aid (e.g. money for prescriptions) or time (e.g. job skills training)
    • Pantry Service - giving of food and household goods
  • Comprehensiveness of data vs. flexibility of administration
    • As pantries can receive funding based on these records, it's important that the data can be recorded efficiently (user friendly and intuitive!) and accurately (reporting!)
    • No two pantries are alike, so the manner of providing services and other particular details should be manageable by the application without hard coded constraints
