For installation just unzip the cmsimple-zip into a directory of Your harddisk and load it up with a ftp client like filezilla portable into a subdirectory of Your webroot(please do not use the built in linux-zip! - of course the plesk-unzip in the plesk-filemanager will function).

Then put a domain on the installation-directory - and that was it. Cmsimple XC ist ready – the login is “test”.

You should ofter login fill in under “settings”

  • twice Your email (otherwise no email mask will appear and You cannot change the password online)
  • The standard editor is Ckeditor 4 : You can change to tinymce4 or tinymce5 ( all of them have several choosable profiles – under plugins :…)
  • Then You should set FontAwesome(FA 5.13) to auto and jquery to auto as well !!! – version 3.60 ist most reliable and fast
  • AND SAVE settings
  • Please change now the password under “password” and save – You will be logged out after saving.
  • If You use https, then please change line 50 of userfuncs.php from http://“; to https://”;

Now Cmsimple XC is ready. Enjoy!

Cmsimple is a flat-file Cms, which stores textdata in a special html-file. You can make a backup of content.htm in the menu but also a full-backup (after login) with ….yourdomain.com/backup.
After a while You will find the backup-file in the userfiles-directory (top of cms → files).

(P.S. You should have a powered by link to cmsimple XH.org or cmsimple.org or to the wikipedia article)
