YANG CBOR Roadmap

This page details the various specifications that connect YANG, CBOR, and CoAP.

YANG-CBOR

The approved documents specifying YANG-CBOR are:

• RFC 9254: Encoding of Data Modeled with YANG in the Concise Binary Object Representation (CBOR)
• draft-ietf-core-sid-24 YANG Schema Item iDentifier (YANG SID)

This work has previously occurred in the CORE WG but future work will occur in the CBOR WG. This includes:

• Stand-in Tags for YANG-CBOR
• Nascent work on representing Metadata Annotations in YANG-CBOR

CORECONF

CORECONF, a CoAP-oriented analog of RESTCONF that also employs YANG-CBOR, is defined in:

• draft-ietf-core-comi-17 CoAP Management Interface (CORECONF)
• draft-ietf-core-yang-library-03 Constrained YANG Module Library

The CORECONF document itself is near completion and will be the base of a revision of the Constrained YANG Module Library document.
