The purpose of this wiki is to enable folks without coding experience working in OSPO's to easily share stories about open source software (OSS) that will aid them in their work. A Couple of topical headings are provided to start the conversation. Erase them. Change them. Add to them.

  1. How can OSS metrics help to make the value of scientific OSS projects visible to leadership? What metrics? What format?
  2. My university has 43 (or some other "n") key projects that support funding. What is the best way to assess their stability and sustainability? To identify risks?

Technology Transfer

  1. What metrics or metrics models can help our technology transfer office determine the market readiness of a piece of open source software?
  2. How does technology function different for each type of OSS license, and how can I assess that utility?

Risk

  1. Given an open source project, how to I determine its dependencies, licensing, and IP risk for my university?
  2. How do I demonstrate compliance with European CRA regulations without breaking the bank?
