10 Remote Controls

Supported remote control types

Currently LibBB supports only XBee remote control. There was support for Spektrum satellite receivers at some point, but it has not been looked at in a while.

However in the future we want to support multiple types of remotes, that will be added one by one:

• XBee (long and safe range, flexible packeting and configuration, can be used in parallel to Wifi)
• ESPnow (medium range, cannot be used in parallel to Wifi because it uses Wifi hardware as the transport base layer)
• Bluetooth (short to medium range, can support remote control by phone, cannot be used in parallel to Wifi on most architectures)
• Spektrum 24GHz (long and safe range, industry standard, can be used in parallel to Wifi)
