Welcome to Doom Source Port Builds!
Here is a collection of Doom Source Ports for various platforms and architectures. The reason why this exists is because:
- Some projects do not provide Linux/Mac Intel/Mac M1 or Windows 64bit binaries
- Some of these projects are unmaintained and abandoned, with no compiled binaries existing.
- Mac users - RUN THE BUNDLES FROM YOUR APPLICATION DIRECTORY :) otherwise they will not work properly.
NOTE FOR LINUX: I have (as of 12/12/2021) stopped providing GNU/Linux binaries. This is due to me running a Debian Unstable machine for most of my development which has the latest LIBC. Most end-users won't be able to run those binaries on older LTS Linux Distros. To help with this, if you need any help compiling for Linux. Ping me :)
So I am providing this service so that the project maintainers do not have to worry about reaching other platforms and they can focus on doing what they do.
These builds are NOT modified at all from their upstream locations, except in the instance that a change is required in order to compile. I will do Pull Requests to the relevant upstream location. But note, I cannot do PR's to the projects that are abandoned.
Note: the files with 'universal' in the name are Universal (Intel and Apple Silicon) .app bundles.
Note: currently for EDGE Classic, you must execute the binary within the .app bundle (or copy/paste the MacOS/ contents somewhere). This is not under my control and currently is not stable within a bundle (also music fails to play but works when executed from the terminal).
