This page describes new functionality and workflow changes in v1.809

For Players

XP Spending!

You can now spend XP from your character sheet. Doing so will deduct XP costs and will add spent XP to a log. XP grants (via the group manager) are also included in the log.

To open the log, scroll down in the sheet and click the notepad.

  • To buy a skill rank, right click and select "Purchase Skill Rank."
  • To buy a new specialization, force power, or signature ability, click appropriate label on your character sheet (e.g. the orange box above), and select the item you wish to buy
  • To purchase talents or upgrades within specializations, force powers, or signature abilities, right click the talent/upgrade and click "purchase"
  • To purchase talents directly, navigate to the "talents" tab and click the "talents" header

You may still grant yourself everything by simply checking the box - this does not cost XP and does not get added to the XP log.

For GMs

XP Spending!

Players can now spend XP! Please ensure careers have specializations and signature abilities associated with them by re-running the import or dragging-and dropping them onto the career sheet. Granting XP (via the group manager) will populate in the XP log, so consider using that if you don't currently - especially since you can now provide reason(s) for the granted XP, which also show up in the log.

Specializations, signature abilities, and force powers are populated from the compendiums listed in the game settings. By default, it is set to the default OggDude importer compendium names.

Note that (due to a bug I thought I squashed but did not) some items in careers may appear red:

This indicates that the linked item cannot be located in the game world. To correct this, click the X to de-link and drag-and-drop the item onto the sheet or delete your compendiums and re-import. Not fixing links will result in a failure to spend XP for those linked items, though XP will not be erroneously deducted.

Importer Improvements!

You may want to reimport your data. The OggDude importer has the following changes:

  • It associates specializations and signature abilities with their relevant careers
  • It populates force power required force rating and base power cost
  • It populates signature ability base power cost
  • It populates species with talents
  • Rivals and Nemesis are now imported with the new actor types
  • Numerous bugfixes - see the changelog for more detail
    • Major points include: ship attachments actually being imported as ship attachments and previously-blank mods on items being properly imported

Overall, I have tried to approach the OggDude importer with the philosophy that you should be able to re-import data at any time without causing issues, and I believe that this has been met in 1.809 this hasn't been met in 1.809 but it doesn't break anything to reimport so hooray?.
