Set up GitHub Sponsors #22
Comments
Actually, this project can be directly linked to the Collective. You can see that it's linked by the "Sponsor" badge at the top of the Git page. So, I don't have to add the entire Netmix org to point to Open Collective. You can do it rep specific it seems. |
Yes! Again the instructions Open Collective provides here are pretty straightforward - I'm not the Github org owner, so don't think I could setup myself. I can certainly connect us with help on the Open Collective side if there's a need. Just keep in mind there's an approval process on the Google side. Also, if you look at the sidebar - you'll see we're already linking out to the collective Github sponsors would integrate - https://github.com/netmix/openproducer-platform |
Okay, I tok. The first step the other day connecting the org to Open
Collective, but haven’t submitted fir review yet, so have not yet been
approved or able to take the next step with Stripe.

Circling back to this as I think it would be a good idea to connect both of these collectives to GitHub sponsors - @tonyzeoli Per https://github.com/netmix/openproducer-platform/issues/30#issuecomment-861518522 were you able to move beyond connecting the Github org (see https://docs.opencollective.com/help/collectives/osc-verification/github-sponsors) If you haven't been able, maybe I can do that since you already connected the org. Also it might be a good time to dust off this issue #15 |
Open Collective provides a way to connect Github Sponsors for Organizations to our Collective.
This option is currently only available for Collectives fiscally hosted by the Open Source Collective which will hold the funds on behalf of our project.
@tonyzeoli The process and terms are confusing, but basically we'd associate the Netmix Github org with Open Source Collective as the fiscal host.
There's no need to change hosts or create any new collectives.
I'd like to put off even talking about this until after the FundOSS launch
