Edits to correct link (double parenthesis instead of single) and some spelling. We use American English spelling and corresponding spell checking, so for consistency's sake centre is changed to center. Apologies to all contributors from UK Australia and other locals that use other forms of spelling.

Hello @dstansby, Thanks for the contribution. Made some minor modifications to it, hopefully will pass testing now. Sorry for "correcting" the spelling. This is just to maintain consistency with one spelling system. In the notebooks repository we use the American version of English and not the UK/Australian... one. Will merge once it passes the testing. |

Since I was reading through the registration notebooks anyway, I thought I would do some minor improvements to the text in them. This PR has some minor improvements to the first registration notebook.
