This repo contains code used in the article "The effect of COVID-19 on cross-border mobilities of people and functional border regions: the Nordic case study from Twitter data".
The work is conducted within the Digital Geography Lab at the University of Helsinki and as a part of the BORDERSPACE -- Tracing Interactions and Mobilities Beyond State Borders: Towards New Transnational Spaces project.
Collection of data is based upon the tool tweetsearcher created by Tuomas Väisänen et al.: https://github.com/DigitalGeographyLab/tweetsearcher Digital Geography Lab.
