Due to #149 the apps didn't synced anymore. A little indicator if everything is synced to/from the server would be nice to see if there are potential problems.

We just noticed that one device was out of sync by comparing the apps manually - having an easy way to check when or if the sync just went fine would be awesome as feedback to the user.

A small bar at the top (does not need to be 44px cause not clickable) would be good. Saying something like:

Offline – changes saved locally

How about "last synced: DATE" instead?

a) offline should not be an error
b) contains actually more information
c) makes users aware that data is synced at all (we're not telling them currently)

@jancborchardt in any case: could you provide a mock up?

  • Would you display that "Last synced" permanently then?
  • It should be a relativrle date so people don't have to manually subtract. "Last synced 30 minutes ago", or " Last synced just now".
  • It does not contain more information, it contains different info. :) People don't necessarily know the app works offline either unless they read everything.

I think that would make sense.

We should display this as a subline below the header. That is, under "Grouptabs" in the tab overview and under the tab name in the tab detail view.
