I'm maintainer of wxMaxima on FreeBSD. I noticed the latest versions (since 23.12.0) are unusable and unstable.

wxmaxima -> Integrate -> OK in the emerging window -> select something in the text area and click with the right button.
In this case:
Terminating due to uncaught exception 0xa56c8369f00 of type std::__1::system_error
[1] 36350 abort (core dumped) wxmaxima

The Shift-Enter doesn't work in the latest versions (in 23.12.0 works well).

FreeBSD 14.2, with wxgtk 3.2.6 and 3.0.5 too.
I think it's FreeBSD-specific but don't know how can I help - more information, etc.

The latest versions are unavailable in FreeBSD's repositories (because of above) so if you need the package I can upload it.

It's long ago, that I tried FreeBSD, but I installed it now in a virtual machine. WxMaxima does compile out of the box (nice) and I was not able to reproduce this issue with the current Git version.
Maybe the issue is the same as #1980 or #1964 (both related to a right click popup menu). Both are solved, can you test the current git version, if these issues are solved for you too?

Or get a backtrace from gdb (with a recent version (or (if the issue still exist there) the current git HEAD)?

Best regards, Wolfgang

Thanks for testing. Did you try with wx32-gtk3 or wx30-gtk3?

wx32-gtk3. Wxwidgets 3.2(.0) was released in July 2022, more than 2 1/2 years ago.

Does the current Git version work for you?
Wolfgang
