Expected Behavior

I'd like to be able to use this with my branch protection rules. The master branch is protected, so changes should go there only through PRs. This workflow fails to run on it, because it tries to create the AUTHORS file directly on the branch.

Possible Solution

It would be best to (optionally?) create a PR with the update to the AUTHORS file. That should make it work even with branch protection rules.

Additional Context

I cannot use this for now, unfortunately.
