  • Feature not documented on user guide:
    Move Page functionality

  • What does it mean to move pages during authoring session?

An author is allowed to move pages from one parent page to another or from a parent page to the root page. This authoring action is not documented on the user guide.

  • Why does the Move Page functionality need documentation?
For first time authors and authors who need to quickly modify a web content, if the user guide explains the steps taken to successfully complete such task, that would reduce the time-to-value ratio for the author.

  • Documentation Suggestion
The documentation is supported with images, includes identification of specific operation buttons with box shapes. The steps are explained through the following:

One

Two

Three

-Once you have selected the page you want to move. Click on the ... Actions button. Navigate to the Move panel option and click on it.

  • A new page is displayed with the heading Move and the name of the page you want to move

  • To select the page you want to move to, click on the ... Actions button and select the Choose another page panel option

  • If you were able to successfully click on Choose another page option, a new modal page is displayed on the screen with a
table showing available pages including the live pages and the draft pages.

  • You can select a page by clicking on the page after you have scrolled down the table or by using the search feature. The search feature filters the pages by the text you have entered. Click on the page.

  • Once you have selected the page, you are taken to a new page which display a confirm button. Click on the confirm button and select the Yes, move this page button to successfully move the page.

@ArafatAbdussalam could you rewrite this not depend on screenshots? I don’t really see what value they add here.

Thank you for the feedback @thibaudcolas The issue was opened while I was just getting an hang of the admin interfaces. I have another issue opened #338 which is better than this.

I think it is better for me to close this issue.
