Installation notes
------------------
Inflisp was developed with Borland Delphi3. A well known problem
is that Borland some day replaced the unit dsgnintf.pas.
The background is described in http://dn.codegear.com/article/27717
So in newer versions of Delphi you've got to do a couple
of things.
In expr_reg.pas, replace
uses
dsgnintf;
by
uses
designintf,
designeditors;
The file expr_reg.pas contains the registration call for TLispExpression.
TLispExpression is the main component of Inflisp which represents a call
to the Lisp system. TLispExpression must be installed into a package
of your own choice, for example a new one.
It may be possible that you must add a reference to designide.dcp
to your package.
- Under the 'requires' section, add designide
The package will look like
package Package1;
...
requires
designide,
rtl,
vcl;
contains
expr_reg in 'inflisp3.2\expr_reg.pas';
end.
- Compile the package.
Normally there should be no more problems.
- With the Personal Edition, there might be an error remaining, like
[Fatal Error] Package1.dpk(28): E2202 Package 'xmlrtl' needed
but could not be found.
This is called the XMLRTL problem. See
http://andy.jgknet.de/oss/kylix/wiki/index.php/Delphi_2005_Personal_Edition_xmlrtl.dcp_fake
http://andy.jgknet.de/blog/
- Get D2k5PExmlrtlFake.zip from the above address.
- From that you get a xmlrtl.dcp, which you have to copy
to ...\Borland\BDS\3.0\lib
- Then the package should be compilable.
- The next step is to install the package. This can be done by
View / Project Management / Package1.bpl / Right mouse click / Install
- Now you have a new VCL category Inflisp with a component TLispExpression.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another compiler error might occur.
unit lspCreat;
....
procedure LspLockGC;
begin
GcIsLocked := true;
end;
[Error] lspcreat.pas(416): E2064 Left side cannot be assigned to
In that case, go to the compiler options and active
assignable typed constants.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Compiling Demo.dpr
------------------
It might be the case that you get an error compiling this Delphi project.
[Fatal Error] strng.pas(926): F2039 Cannot create output file 'c:\inflisp\inflisp3.2\dcu\strng.dcu'
This comes from the current default settings. In the Project Options,
choose an appropriate output directory, which must exist.
