  • World Mask is used to in the logic that decides if grids should be made there
  • The Source is from gadm project. I got familiar with it from my worldpop days.
  • They've released v4; and they depricated v3 of the package (which I depending). It doesn't exist anymore
  • They moved to a difffernt format (moved away from shapefiles, yay for them but bad for us),
  • Current implementation was to import a map/mask for the whole world. Expensive in both time and effort
