I installed the current Webview using this Magisk Module: https://git.rp1.hu/Lordify/WebViewChanger

Although the Module installs the current v132.0.6834.83 as System App correctly to system/product/app/CromiteWebView, the Webview recognised by Android reports v131.0.6778.205.

I can't make any sense of that and I'm not sure which version is actually installed.

When I manually install the current version over the System App the correct version is shown.

I do not detect any problems:

my advice is to ask the repo you linked

I just tried this module myself and it seems that module is handling the installation incorrectly -- it tried to install the package on top of the one that came with the ROM which would obviously fail due to signature differences. The error message looks like:

Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Existing package com.android.webview signatures do not match newer version; ignoring!]

Tried latest Open WebView 2.5.2 and that doesn't work either. Probably the same reason as that module did not appear to be systemlessly replacing the package when it should in this case.

I think these should be reported to the respective modules' issue trackers... I'm using KernelSU by the way. For Open WebView someone already reported it.
