We are currently using ESLint v8 which is now no longer supported.

ESLint v9.0.0 is a major release of ESLint, and as such, has several breaking changes but we should look at upgrading at some point.

The ESLint config can be migrated (though further changes may still be needed) with steps outlined here: https://eslint.org/docs/latest/use/configure/migration-guide
