Overzealous input validation for phone number field

I tried adding 2 phone numbers into the phone number field which might be what some users will want to do (eg have a back up number stored in the addressbook). Might be more useful to such users if you perhaps give a warning/write in your user guide that only 1 phone number is allowed instead of just directly preventing users from inputting in more than 1 phone number.
