I'm not too familiar with the scripting language ShopBot appears to use, but would it be possible to build a similar calibration script in G-Code for other CnC devices?

The ShopBot uses OpenSBP which is kind of a blend of straight g-code with Basic.
It might be possible; do you have a machine in mind?

In particular, I was thinking of the X-Carve. There's already an optional height calibrator that uses the same electrical circuit method. I'll check out OpenSBP. Thanks!
