The mode argument in the run_benchmark.py and quickstart.py files is not used at all. I presume this was introduced to evaluate a specific mode in the numba implementations.

Thank you for noting this. The scripts should automatically run all available numba implementations. If they don't, then there is a bug. The mode argument is a remnant of something different that didn't make it in the initial release; it is unrelated to numba implementations. However, if you would like a feature for selecting a specific benchmark implementation (for frameworks that expose multiple ones), you are welcome to make a PR.
