Legacy maven central fails quite often with system not available

Does not consistently work. Hasn't for some time. Constantly will get 'system not available'. Using the new search is not an option. While that works, its missing stuff, super slow as too much data when a quick query is needed. What can be done to fix this? This isn't happening on one machine. This happens on numerous machines.
