- 1 pound Italian mild sausage (also know as sweet)
- 1 medium - chopped yellow onion
- 2 - 1 pound cans tomatoes, peeled & chopped
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups small elbow macaroni
Take skin off sausage if in cases and smash in small pieces for about 5 minutes, until pink is gone. Add onions and cook uncovered for an additional 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except macaroni and bring to a boil. Add macaroni and cook until tender. Add salt and serve.
