Currently FF categories for mods are messy. To properly work as package manager with actually working packages, FF and SF need a clean up.

Goals

  • All mods visible from within app should be installable and working
  • No other stuff, legacy mods, mods that require unsupported components, etc which doesnt work out of the box
    • Mods that require additional setup are OK (with proper readme)
    • BUT it's bad if they require breaking compatibility, eg RSL1 mods require uninstalling Reconstructor manually
  • All other stuff should be preserved somewhere: patches, unsupported mods, mod packs

Categories

  • Repurpose Mods - Remaster (Map Edits) as Mods - Remaster (misc) or something like that
  • Hide Mods - Remaster (Script Loader) from SF in-app list. They make sense as separate category on FF for those who want to fiddle with RSL1 manually

Idea is to have only 1 category actually accessible to users from within app. That should be Mods - Remaster (SyncFaction). All others will serve historical purposes or to hide stuff not intended to be installed manually.

Also there is no point in separation between "just" mods and "script loader" ones: scripts are not going to happen anytime soon, and if they do, Reconstructor is required to run game anyway so why make distinction anyway.

Move files around

  • Patches should be moved away from mod category
  • Mods that require RSL1, reshade, other tools or simply don't work
    • Investigate anything that doesn't work, add a comment or description on FF why it's the case
  • Mod bundles: test their compatibility with terraform and reupload working parts as separate mods
    • MM bundle: some are reuploaded by arrows
    • Community patch: HeyItsDuke?

In short, things to be done on FF side:

  • Shovel mods between cats
  • Change their descriptions (or i can just add comments myself)
  • Rename a category

Things to be done in app:

  • Hide extra mod display categories
  • Look for patch in another category

All RSL scripts are bundled in a proper working mod, can move all individual RSL uploads to another category
