How to flag or fix text with dark background colors?

The problem I have is that some release notes text is dark foreground on dark background (i.e. redacted).

I believe that this problem is caused by copying & pasting text while in dark mode.

I can manually search for background colors with this pattern:

background-color:rgb\((\s*\d{1,3}\s*),\s*\d{1,3}\s*,\s*\d{1,3}\s*\)

However, this method is tedious and not foolproof. I would prefer to flag or fix it in the pipeline. Any ideas?

So if I understand correctly...

• You have text that was cut and pasted into the description field of the work item (or similar field) that is HTML or MD format and so remembering the styling.
• When this text is put in the generated release notes the dark text format means it cannot be seen on the dark background of report

The way I would address this is in the base template.MD, could you not set the in this as in effect a 'global override'

background-color:rgb\((\s*\d{1,3}\s*),\s*\d{1,3}\s*,\s*\d{1,3}\s*\)

As to your suggestion of a flag, I am note sure I can create a flag that would not cause more trouble. I don't like very specific flags, but a 'remove formatting from HTML fields' seems too much

1. How would I set the global override in the base template?

2. Could the {{sanitize}} handlebars helper help in some way?

1. Sorry I don't know if this is possible, or even how to attempt it
2. Using sanitize might well help, something like {{sanitize (lookup this.fields 'System.Description') }} If this does not do the job them you could always create your own custom extension to make the exact edit you need. There are some sample custom extensions in this folder
