Windows, its Settings app, bloomin' everything has suffered from the scourge of double, triple line spaced everything!
This 'style' might look 'nice' to some graphic/UI designers, but it's really not great usability wise. Not for a lot of people, those that use computers a lot. Hence MS had to submit, and give us Compact View back in File Explorer!
Make the UX work, then make the UI pretty. In that order. Not sacrificing functionality for fashion, like Apple does religiously.
Having everything compact, all in view, without scrolling, without 50 acres of white space, is just a better, clearer UX.
Some of the mods Settings tabs have all the individual setting so, so spread down the page... Such that you have to scroll down to see just 10-15 settings.
Could we tighten everything up a bit to make everything a bit clearer?
As you might guess, and as many of you might also also realise, and agree, the 'old' style of settings, control panel tabbed dialog boxes were, are actually much better than what we've been given in Windows.
And yes, the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker dialog is much, much nicer, easier to use than this mish-mash of mods, where everything is hidden away, where everything's hard to discover. I wish 7tt was updated, so i could still use it!
Long live the .cpl !!!
