System details:

Positron and OS details:

Workbench: 2024.12.1+549.pro5
Positron: 2025.01.1 build 7
OS: RHEL9

Interpreter details:

R 4.4.0

Describe the issue:

In the latest daily for Workbench, using Positron 2025.01.1 build 7 there is a GLIBCXX error seen in the browser console:

Error: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.30' not found (required by /usr/lib/rstudio-server/bin/positron-server/node_modules/@vscode/spdlog/build/Release/spdlog.node)
Image

Sometimes the interpreter fails to be detected (may be unrelated, occurs very rarely):

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Launch a fuzzbucket instance of rhel9
  2. Launch a Positron Pro session
  3. open the browser's console

Expected or desired behavior:

No errors

Were there any error messages in the UI, Output panel, or Developer Tools console?

We suspect the interpreter failing to start is likely unrelated.
