Because the selfing_rate is conditional on sexual reproduction (with rate 1 - cloning_rate), then selfing will never occur when the cloning_rate is 1. So the model is probably misspecified. Unless folks think it's not worth disallowing this?

That is a reasonable suggestion. My first thought was, "well maybe a tool is ignoring selfing anyways". But then such a tool may happily process a model that is not in fact the desired model.
