Mhmmm, no you don't need USB, we have OTA Updates who works normally without any problem. Are you sure, u select the right firmware file? Which ESP and which devboard do you use? |

Hello ,
I am running Pixelit version 2.5.2 for a while now without any issues. As of late, my displays keeps reminding me to update to latest version (2.5.3). I followed the link to the firmware repository and downloaded the latest version of the firmware for my particular ESP32 setup (8266).
Next, I navigated to "Update & Backup", selected and uploaded the .bin file using the upload field under "Firmware". As soon as I do this, I see the word "Reconnecting" at the top of the screen and after a couple of seconds the page reloads.
When I return to the Dashboard, the version is still 2.5.2 and the rainbow arrow is still showing. I, therefore, conclude that the update did not take place. I have since tried different firmware flavors (like for example: generic, etc), but no joy.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Am I missing something? Or do I need to pull my Pixelit off the wall and reinstall the newest firmware via USB every time there is an update?
Thank very much. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
