It would be really handy if in addition to the many actions, one could also change the active tab with Multiple Tab Handler.

@piroor writes in this comment for #181 that:

Because MTH's menu appear when there is one or more selected tab, you need to select the single target tab. Log-press on the tab or ctrl-click on it, then the tab gets selected and MTH's menu will appear. This is by design.

I have tried long-pressing and cltr-clicking on the list entries in the pop-up, but nothing happens when I do. ( I did have other issues with clicking on this list, see #182 - I don't know if these two issues are related ).

This issue is what is keeps me using All Tabs Helper and prevents me from going all-in with Multiple Tab Handler! :-)

Run in an entirely fresh profile with only Multiple Tab Handler installed.

  • Platform (OS): Linux
  • Version of Firefox: 57.0.1 (64-bit)
  • Version (or revision) of Multiple Tab Handler: 2.0.5

Could you describe what is the expected behavior the addon should work with the format?: Steps to produce / expected behavior / current behavior (possibly "nothing happen" or "no button to do it")

Because I'm not well about English, ordered list format (1) ... 2)....) will very helpful for me...

Sure!

It seems that the most common operation I want to do with MTH, select a tab to "go to" among the many open tabs, is not possible with MTH:

  1. I have many tabs open. I can only see the first 3 letters of the names of the tabs because there are so many.
  2. I want to go to the tab called "some long name: foo" (and not "some long name: bar")
  3. Go to MTH's menu
  4. Find the tab in question because now I can see much more of the name ( I can see the difference between "foo" and "bar" from my two tabs in step 2)
  5. Long-press or ctrl-click on the line in the menu for that tab
  6. That tab now becomes the active/foreground/selected tab. The one that is visible in the rest of the browser window.
  7. I'm happy and close MTH menu

Step number 4 is the step I'd like to see working with MTH menu.

In addition: In fact, if I have many tabs open (and lets face it, I wouldn't be using MTH unless I do), and I want to perform some of the other existing MTH actions on them, sometimes I'm in doubt whether the 17th tab really is the tab I'd like to perform the action on. Some way of making that 17th tab active/foreground so I can see the tab's content behind the MTH menu can help me visually determine if it really is that tab I want to perform the action on.

Double-click, long-click or ctrl-click the line in the MTH menu seems like a reasonable way to make a particular tab the active/foreground/selected tab.
