Concern Regarding Unfair Labeling Practices and Contribution Assessment #519

I would like to bring attention to a concerning issue regarding the labeling practices and contribution assessments. Recently, it has come to my attention that certain contributors are being given an unfair advantage through the assignment of higher contribution levels, despite the nature and complexity of their PRs not warranting such labels. Specific Issues: Inconsistent Labeling:

If this type of labeling criteria are considered justified and valid, then here is the attached list of some ( there are even more) of my PRs where my labels were removed and I wasn't eligible for even a 'level1' label, unlike the referenced contributor, I am atleast eligible for a 'level1' label for them, if thats the case Because, my PRs aren't mere documentation, I have spent sleepless nights for reaching out to various repos and contributed these automations and not just that even helped the PAs for smooth working of those using PATs and resolved their queries.........Still I respected the decision when 3000+ points of mine were taken away and still accept it, but if such contributions made by the above referred contributor are considered of 'level3' label then my automation contributions are 100% eligible for atleast a level1 label |

@Asymtode712 yes we have already told sanjay about this contributor he said he will check it by himself later even some of my prs which could get level 2 have been given level 1 in this repositonary |

@sanjay-kv Check out this too The referenced contributor's recent merged PR: apu52/Travel_Website#1180 This is just a small example, if you go through all of the contributor's PRs you would find multiple such types of contributions where level2 & level3 labels have been awarded |

@sanjay-kv Check out this too....after every week a PR has been raised for Navbar improvement.....and majority of them are given level3, does it make any sense to contribute on a single module repetitively and getting higher level labels for it. Yes @Asymtode712, she appears to be misusing it now. However, I believe that after @sanjay-kv reviews the situation, her rank will likely decrease. As She has mostly contributed to projects without assigned issues and has followed similar practices. Why I find this unfair is because I’ve observed other contributors who are waiting for issues to be assigned, with PRs pending for weeks and tagging PAs without receiving responses. what she is doing may not be entirely wrong, but the repeated use of this method, especially when PAs are unaware, seems inappropriate and demotivating for others. Sad to see |

@MastanSayyad Yes even seeing them i had started in using this method in community-site project as all of them are from the top 10 group and none of the issues were getting assigned but the above contributor is literally using this method in every repositonary she is contributing even the ones which are assigning issues regularly. Community site was not assigning issues thats why i think others were doing that i know it is wrong but issues were not getting assigned and we saw that there were many people who were getting their pull request merged without getting their issue assigned so we also added our pull request or else we would have been at disadvantage I know it is wrong but the pa does not assign issues and also he does not reply when we tag him. As for this contributor i have noticed that she is unusually getting level 3 for really easy updates which is wrong while there are people who have created good pull requests but not getting their pull request merged |

@aditya-bhaumik yeah can't blame them This method is not entirely wrong but using it to score in leaderboard is also not right especially with such large number of level 3 labels! |

@aditya-bhaumik @MastanSayyad The issue is not only using this unethical practice, a larger concern is that she is getting higher levels repeatedly & that too for fixing bugs and she fixes the Navbar every week and gets a level3 for it, like seriously...... We are trying our best to find out some issues and fix them and earned good points ethically and contributors like her who are just favoured by some individuals are getting higher levels. And I know @sanjay-kv has his hands full of work currently, but this is a very very serious thing now and must be reviewed at the earliest not just for decreasing her points, but so that other contributors following such unethical methods must be made aware of consequences of following such things And I bet once the review is done you won't see her in top 20, that is the level of spam she has done so far by contributing to some particular repos |

@sanjay-kv https://github.com/HimanshuNarware/Devlabs/pulls/Unnimaya6122004 can you please review the contributions of this contributor also The thing I have seen is it is really simple updates as we just need to find a tool and add it in product.json the contributor can add atleast 5-6 tools at a single pull request but for gaining more points he is adding tools 1 at a time This contributor is taking this as advantage and adding 10 pull request a day which is not fair yesterday alone he got around 20 pull request merged I think this repo should also be added in guidelines people are spamming really badly in this as you can see the above contributor he has not been contributing in any other repo except this one and got more than 60 pr merged with level 2 just for adding tools in product.json which is pretty simple These pull request are really easy to make and this contributor is only working on this repsitonary because of that can taking advantage of this, He has reached 11 like ths |

@sanjay-kv sir please add this project in the guidelines and remove some points from the contributors who are spamming in this repositionary This contributor has literally got more than 2500 points by doing this method and he is getting more than 20 of his pull request merged only a daily basis for last 3-4 days |

@sanjay-kv also this person creating a issue adding more than 10 tools in it he should add the 10 tools in a single pull request but to get extra points he is adding one tool at a time Also this is bad as other people are unable to take those tools while that person is taking this as a advantage by adding 1 tools at a time even though issues are not getting assigned Other contributor are not able to use these tools because of this |

@sanjay-kv sir, It is really unfair that this contributor is getting so many level 2 points for simple updates. please check it as this contributor is just spamming now in this repo and he creates a issue of 10 tools but creates 1 pr for each tool. which is really unfair for the other contributor even they could have found those tools and added them. he is getting 20 prs a day merged just by doing this. right now also there are 19 prs open and by then end of day they will also get merged. |

@vivekvardhan2810 exactly i think this repo should also be included in the guidelines considering it is only for adding tools to the product.json file which is a simple copy paste task And the above contributor is using it as an advantage to get above the leaderboard |

@sanjay-kv Sir, This contributor has reached number 4 on the leaderboard, and the spamming has become extreme. Even today, this contributor has merged about 20 pull requests. It is an injustice to the people who have been contributing for the last 3 months, as this contributor has made 2500 points just by spamming in this repository for 2 to 3 days. It is becoming more serious day by day. Please review these two contributors as soon as possible. |

@sanjay-kv I think there is similar repo to Admin: (As i remember this contributior was around 40-50 last week and today he is in I have gone through his profile and find out the similar act
Here are too the documentation and json file changes are done by the contributors in bulk each day (also without raising issues and assigning) |

take this issue to the admin, and ask him to add me into the repo, though I have already communicated with him multiple ways still no response. If I have access I can review and reduce points , else temp block and I need to think an alternative. you can contribute following the guidelines. |

@MastanSayyad and @sanjay-kv I think there is one more contributor Admin: Akshat1111111 Where the above contributor is spamming and getting level 2 and level 3 for the minor changes like documentation. And that contributor is now 32 in leaderboard . It's becoming more serious and within 3 days he is in top 50. |
