<td style="font-size: 12px; color: #444444; line-height: 200%;">外界期待開放源碼的 Solaris 10 作業系統，如今距離正式釋出又更 近了一步。OpenSolaris，也就是開放源碼的 Solaris 系統，其社群 的諮詢委員會正式名單，已於日前由 Sun 揭曉，僅管此舉象徵 OpenSolaris 的公開已經不遠，然而由於該委員會大半是 Sun 的職員， 不免給了外界 OpenSolaris 是否能真正脫離該公司懷抱的憂慮。</td>

<p>目前政府積極推動國家在資訊社會之佈局，例如以資訊技術為基礎推動電子化政府建設，強調政府以人為本的服務功能，強化台灣社會與產業資訊應用能力的e-Taiwan計畫等。這些計畫共同的目標，在於加強發展外銷導向的國家經濟，並運用科技強化我國社會體質。</p>
<p>自由/開放源碼軟體是一種軟體工程技術的新趨勢，這是利用開發者社群的集體參與以及網路的整體資源來加速軟體開發，提高軟體設計與實作品質。國科會工程處為配合國內發展自由軟體核心技術，培育自由軟體科技人才，及擴大自由軟體社群規模，從去年開始就特別針對技職院體系規劃自由軟體研發推動計畫，並投入人力及其它資源進行關鍵技術研發及人才養成。然而，資訊科技的發展不是以實現少數一兩項目標而自滿，更需要思考如何將成功的實例擴展到更大的規模，讓這些智慧財產與全民分享，也讓政府行政接受更公開透明的檢視。</p>
<p>為確實落實本項計畫之執行目標及要求，中央研究院資訊科學所與國科會合作，輔導技職體系所補助的近百件自由軟體計畫，將其所開發的軟體放置於中央研究院資訊科學所建置之自由軟體鑄造場系統 (<a href="https://rt.openfoundry.org/Foundry/">https://rt.openfoundry.org/Foundry/</a>)。中央研究院資訊科學所自由軟體鑄造場也特別應國科會邀請，在接下來的兩週分別在北、中、南召開研討會，針對如何進駐專案、使用鑄造場系統協助專案開發與管理及自由軟體授權條款這幾個議題，向申請計畫的計畫主持人進行實地操作與說明，協助計畫主持人熟悉自由軟體鑄造場系統。</p>
<p>自由軟體鑄造場系統提供了一個保管軟體原始碼和執行碼的場所。由於公開軟體源碼，所以可以讓更多人閱讀原始碼，並參與測試和維護。透過此項機制，軟體如果有設計或實作上的缺陷，也比較容易被公眾檢驗測試出來。另外，由於讓更多人有機會了解這個系統的原始碼，也有助於軟體的後續維護，例如除蟲、修補、或新增功能等，對於這個系統的穩定度有很大的幫助。期望藉由開放軟體源碼的手段，達成共享和資訊透明，進而促成政府和企業廣泛創新應用自由軟體產品，大幅提升國內資訊產業的技術水準。</p>

<p>台灣Perl使用者的年度盛會 ─ YAPC::Taipei 2005，已於3月26、27日在台灣大學資訊系館順利圓滿落幕。為期兩天的研討會，共有近五十位的來賓參與今年度的盛會。</p>
<p>現場邀請的國外講者，包括Brian Ingerson將帶來Kwiki的最新介紹，以及Jesse Vincent描繪RT的未來發展。此外宮川達彥將介紹如何利用一些部落格(Blog) APIs，如AtomAPI與XML-RPC等各樣有趣的工具與方法，將一些網站如TypePad、Flickr、Last.fm、del.icio.us、Bloglines以及Amazon網站上的資料，整合到使用者的部落格上。Leon Brocard亦將介紹Perl如何協助像是Google、Amazon、eBay等以網頁服務(Web Services)為主的企業解決互通性(interoperability)與延展性(scalability)的問題。Sam Valain則將帶領大家探討Perl的物件永續性(Object Persistence)，以及其他與功能與Tangram類似的模組介紹，如：Pixie, Class::DBI, Alzabo等。</p>
<p>推廣自由軟體不遺餘力的自由軟體鑄造場，除了身為這次的協辦單位外，也在今年的研討會中，跟與會者分享RT的廣泛技術運用及如何使用自由軟體做程式開發，並邀請鑄造場的專案管理者，針對鑄造場的使用經驗進行交流，同時提出建議；現場也有多位深具實力的Perl開發者，向來賓介紹Perl上最新與最受歡迎的程式或模組，如唐宗漢(Autrijus)介紹Perl6計畫最新發展、高嘉良(clkao)介紹RunApp與Profiler、張琮翔(vgod)探討著名的垃圾信殺手SpamAssassin，以及劉康民(gugod) 和宮川達彥介紹Perl應用程式的最新發展。</p>
