<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: 新細明體;">Creative Commons 是一個非營利組織，2001 年在公共領域中心 （Center for the Public Domain）的大力支持下得以創建，目前設 於史丹福法學院。Creative Commons 由董事會所領導，董事包括網 路法律與智慧財產權專家 James Boyle、Michael Carroll、Molly Shaffer Van Houweling 和 Lawrence Lessig、MIT 資訊科學教授 Hal Abelson、由律師轉任紀錄片製作，再轉而為網路法律專家的 Eric Saltzman、知名的紀錄片工作者 Davis Guggenheim、知名的 日本企業家 Joi Ito、以及公共領域網路出版者 Eric Eldred 等人。</span></p>

<td style="font-size: 12px; color: #444444; line-height: 200%;">11 月號《連線》（Wired）雜誌內附的 CD，收集了 16 首以Creative Commons 授權方式釋出的歌曲。這是一張概念性的專輯，但這個概念 非關音樂，而是和複印（fine print）有關。這張專輯裡所有的歌曲 都伴隨著一種授權方式，它讓你不只能「聽」這些歌曲，還能做其他 的利用；你可以交換（swap）、取樣、還能依你個人創作的目的，利 用這些歌曲，而不用擔心是否侵犯著作權。</td>
