<td style="font-size: 12px; color: #444444; line-height: 200%;">馬克沙特瓦茲 (Mark Shuttleworth) 是第一個上太空的南非太空人(註一)，退休之後，他以雄厚的資本在南非成立了一個基金會推廣教育(註二)。現在，馬克沙特瓦茲又極力推動自由軟體在南非和 非政府組織的使用，他的新計畫，一個新的 Linux 套件 Ubuntu Linux 近日釋出 4.10 版(註三)，這個新的 Linux 套件也是沙特瓦茲在非洲慈善事業的延伸，這個套件預計將會對南非的教育機構大有助益。</td>

<td style="font-size: 12px; color: #444444; line-height: 200%;">九月十日到十二日，羅馬的 Linux User Group (<a href="https://www.lugroma.org/">LUG-Roma</a>) 辦了義大利第一次的 Linux 露營 (<a href="https://lugcamp.lugroma.org/">Linux Camp</a>)，地點在羅馬市郊布拉奇阿諾湖邊 (Lago Bracciano) 的露營區 <a href="https://www.porticciolo.it/demo/indexuk.html">Camping Porticciolo</a>。 布拉奇阿諾湖從羅馬時代就是個水庫，這個環繞著死火山的湖，現在還是供應大羅馬地區(包括梵蒂崗)的供水，營地的老闆亞歷山大先生是 LUG-Roma 的成員之一，他辦公室裡的電腦系統和營地的網咖用的是 Linux-Mandrake，當我抵達營地的時候，我就看著老闆娘熟練地用著 Open Office 登入我的資料。</td>
