The R4ISDHC RTS LITE (rtssilver, oldest version from 2011) from www.r4isdhc.com has updatable firmware.
This is the old version that does NOT have the year or "new" printed anywhere on the card!

My card is a little beat up, here is the product page with better pictures (archived because it was taken down from their site): https://web.archive.org/web/20120501090941/http://www.r4isdhc.com:80/rtssliver/
My card looks the same, inside and out. No revision (or any other text) is printed on the board.

Firmware updater .nds + last firmware: http://www.mediafire.com/file/qtnd63n33tl667f/rtssilver_old_firmware.rar

Can you please provide CiphID and HW revision when trying to dump the flash with the tool?
And, a photo front/back of it if you can?

ChipID and HW Rev both appear to be FFFFFFFF.

Now that i watch better your R4 card, i dont think that your version of R4 has girmware update, because the 2013 and below cards they stopped sellinh since september of 2013 ( the r4isdhc people say it) and in your chip, i cant see the r4isdhc white mark near the golden connectors, i think your card will not have actually support... or may be fake

@Juanito9001 that cart is nothing like the person who's opened the issue. that's supposedly actually a DSTTi clone, where the person who's opened the issue has a different one. Please, take this cart to a different issue. I'd also like to point out, like I have been everywhere, there are very few chipIDs even among official Nintendo carts, they're used to give the console some information about the cart. so far the only two I've seen (that were actually valid) were 0xFC2 and 0x7C2. From the dozen or so fairly different carts. Just because the chipID is similar does not mean the cart is anything like another in terms of being able to support it.

I have this card as well, bought it from r4town.com many years ago, I think it was this one:
http://r4town.com/products/R4i-RTS-card-from-r4isdhc.com-support-3DS-and-DSi-V1.4.3.html
Here are images:
https://goo.gl/photos/3XTpQHwwXWpuQuJg8
And here's it flashing (It doesn't close automatically at the end, I press the power button) :

Here are the files I used:
https://web.archive.org/web/20120921231246/http://www.r4isdhc.com:80/download_silver/
There are more snapshots at the waybackmachine if you need them, though I went through them and it seems like there is only one release. All the snapshots just link to the same page.

Sorry I can't be of any more help, don't know anything about NDS development.

@jason0597 men... in my opinion... you just give us a silver egg, because in that link is the firmware of the R4iSDHC.COM family cards... maybe with this, the developers can figure out a method to the ntrboot have more compatibility

@Juanito9001 there is no surefire approach that will give us compatibility with many cards without investigating each one individually. Clones are random as to whether they work or not when we add the source, and visa versa.

Have the developers managed to flash it with an SPI flasher? If yes, was it succesful?

Could you try with the new release, v0.3.1? just added support for a bunch of carts from this site.

It worked perfectly with my 2016 R4i SDHC Gold Pro. Both the injection and the restore of the backup I made. Thanks!

Tested through the latest release (3.2) of ak2i_ntrcardhax_flasher, unfortunately my 2017 R4 SHDC GOLD Pro RTS still not working. Injection failed.

@CharlieSIGMA

I did it with ntrboot_flasher and it worked fine. Haven't tried with ak2i_ntrcardhax_flasher.

This code decrypts the R4iSDHC_Code.bin in the firmware updater linked above.

The bad news is it doesn't seem like this cart has an updatable blowfish key.

Sorry, my bad, I forgot to apply the gamecode when checking for the blowfish key ...

Yes, the key is in the cart's flash @ 0x10000.

Sorry, my bad again, I confused this cart with another cart.

Just found my old R4 SDHC RTS LITE 2013, it's not working due to mistakenly flashed with a wrong firmware but maybe it's photo will help in advance.

  1. Confirmed that r4i sdhc rts lite 2014 is ntrboot flashable:
" although my own backup of a 2014 r4i sdhc lite strangely failed to restore the 2014 lite card, your "2015 lite" amazingly works with the 031 flasher using a b9-3ds, successfully restored my 2014 lite from its previous magnet-card state. "

That backup 'Clean backup for R4 SDHC Revolution RTS LITE 2015 www.r4isdhc.com' was attached in TobiSham's post:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/flashcard-firmware-backups.481268/page-3

  1. For lite 2013, i have 2 of them not working, and not ntrboot flashable by 031 flasher.
i heard that lite 2013 carts do not have the hardware for flashing... but if so, how can one be possible to flash a wrong firmware and brick this 2013 cart ?

kitlith commented Nov 24, 2017

@emuashui I think the 2013 cart is actually a r4idshc.hk/r4igold.cc/r4ixds/... cart (which is being very actively worked on), but I'd wait until we confirm that before we close this issue.

@emuashui yeah, this is the same card as #3 it looks like. But, if the first page of flash is corrupted, there's no way to get this thing working. Some of the software is stored in the first page and it dictates how it responds to 90% of the commands, and if gone just won't respond properly.
