  1. I want to be able to have a list of users and what access (admin, editor, member) they have to what organisations and be able to manage these access types much like the Sysadmin ones. Currently, we would have to manage that access per organisation and this is cumbersome.
  2. Please can you tell me what access types would give a user the ability to view only all content, including viewing draft and private content? But can't add, edit or remove content.
  3. I can currently see users through the user page but don't have full access to see things like what organisations or datasets they follow if they have selected notifications. Shubham had said he was looking into this.

Hi Michael,

I can provide some answers/context:

  1. I want to be able to have a list of users and what access (admin, editor, member) they have to what organisations and be able to manage these access types much like the Sysadmin ones. Currently, we would have to manage that access per organisation and this is cumbersome. There is no built-in interface to manage users in this way, only per organization/group. This would require a custom implementation.
  2. Please can you tell me what access types would give a user the ability to view only all content, including viewing draft and private content? But can't add, edit or remove content. Users with the "Member" role in an Organization can see private datasets (and can't add/remove datasets within the org), but draft datasets are only visible to sysadmins and the user who created the draft. Changing this would require dev work, as we would need to override CKAN's default user permissions.
  3. I can currently see users through the user page but don't have full access to see things like what organisations or datasets they follow if they have selected notifications. Shubham had said he was looking into this. Same as the first point, there's no built-in interface for this in the UI (except for users seeing their own followed datasets/orgs on their dashboard). This would require a custom implementation.

Please let us know if you'd like us to estimate any/all of these.
