Overview

Data relating to the New Patient Premium (NPP) reported at ICB level.

As part of Dental System Reform, an aim was to improve patient access to NHS dentistry by increasing service activity. To support this, the New Patient Premium (NPP) was introduced. Under this initiative, NHS dentists receive additional UDA (Units of Dental Activity) for treating new patients.

This dataset provides a detailed breakdown of NPP-related activity, allowing users to review monthly activity by Integrated Care Board (ICB) and patient group (adults vs. children). It includes the number of UDAs awarded through the NPP across each ICB, as well as the distribution of adult and child patients who received either a Band 1 or Band 2/3 course of treatment.
