Can the Runner use Audrey v2’s strength-boosting ability outside of a run, in order to trash Strike Fund or Steelskin Scarring?

Yes. While interface abilities can only be used during an encounter, most strength-boosting abilities, including the one on Audrey v2, are not interface abilities. Strength-boosting abilities on icebreakers implicitly have a duration of “for the remainder of the current encounter”, but can be triggered in any paid ability window. If such an ability is used outside of an encounter, the strength increase will expire immediately.

expected: based on this ruling, if the runner uses audrey v2 to boost strength before a run or during a paid ability window such as in between turns, it should immediately reset to 0

actual: a runner is currently able to use audrey to trash a card outside of a run, which is okay per this ruling, but the strength is boosted until the end of the next encounter, including across turns, which should not occur

I believe this is true of all strength boosting abilities right now.

Yeah, I think I'll tweak it to update at the start of a run and at the start of the turn too.

Making it clear on encounter is slightly annoying, because I think a common mistake is to boost icebreakers while waiting for the corp to continue to an encounter, so I wont do that one (yet)

Problematic example: spending credits down to 2 before encountering Tollbooth, and retaining the strength of the pumped breaker.
I think it should follow RAW (Rules As Written).
