Add moving fixtures to the game #1
Comments
any plans on looking into it so far? |
I don't know if this could work with the way how lights are implemented in the game. I have so far looked into if it is possible to change the angle of the rotatable build-in lights (i.e. the Flood Light Tower), but the rotation can only be set on construction time. Its not possible to change that after they are build. Making fully custom movable lights would be a completely different topic. I don't think that this possible with the build-in light system. I did not had time to exclude this possibility for 100% and therefore kept your issue open. But thinking realistically I think this will not work. |
I mean couldn't you just add a point light source that has a body moving around it, casting shadows where the light "shouldn't point", leaving a movable beam |
This will not work. At least not if you want more than 4 or 5 lights. That kind of light calculations are very computational expensive. There is probably a very good reason why the developers of Satisfactory did choose making the current lighting system the way it is. So making something different is not a realistic option. |
I really love the concept of this mod!
It would be a wonderful addition if you could make some moving lights possible!
Maybe for a start, some stationary spots and smaller-footprint washes could also be a good addition.
